Dining Room Table Inspiration

Hello everyone! I wanted to share with you some inspiration that I have been finding for our dining room table. I'm wanting to re do it but cannot decide exactly what I want. I'm definitely painting the legs white, then either attaching sheet metal to the top or sanding then staining the top a dark wood color. Here are some of the pictures I've pinned for inspiration... We'll start with the wood top ones.  They are beautiful!

This picture is the one that has me swooning over the metal top! Gorgeous!

This is going to be a hard decision! What style do you all like? Has anyone tried either one?

Busy Busy Busy

Wow I have seriously been in a whirlwind the past couple of weeks! Someone asked me what I do during the day and I chuckled to myself as I listed what felt like a never ending list of responsibilities. Two weeks ago, I started home schooling my oldest daughter (which will be in a whole other post) on top of my etsy shop picking up and having a vendor space in the new shop that opened up in town. I am completely blessed to stay busy doing things that I love! Thank you everyone for all of your love and support and all of the sweet emails I receive brighten my day! With all of that being said I wanted to share with you all a couple of fun projects that I put together for the shop this week! I want to figure out shipping on these and also list them in my etsy store as well.

The first two were made with white washed burlap canvas and the third was a piece of wood that I painted white.  Using my Silhouette SD I cut words and graphics that I liked to put on them.  A simple embellishment finished them off nicely.  I love finding new things to make, especially when it's with textiles that I love!

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

I Guess I'm a Craftaholic!

This should really be no surprise to anyone who has been reading this blog for any length of time, but I am addicted to crafting! I LOVE making things for my home and for my etsy shop. Even better now, my items are actually in a retail shop now. This gives me so much more room for creativity because my items can be a lot larger with not having to worry about shipping! I wanted to share with you all some of my new items that I have available in the retail store here in town.

Here is what the entrance of the shop looks like.  Not all of this is mine, but the Fall banner and the chalkboards are. :) Such a cozy, welcoming table...very festive!

I LOVE my Silhouette SD! One of my favorite things to do is take a frame, add some spray paint and a fun vinyl graphic! Gives it a completely new look!

I think I've said this before, but I am completely obsessed with chalkboards right now. I love taking vintage windows and turning them into chalkboards.  A very unique one of a kind piece.

With Fall approaching, I couldn't help but make these little treasures for Halloween!  I used vintage thread spools and embellishments to create these.  A fun project with some vintage pieces you may have laying around the house!

I hope you all enjoyed some of my new creations! What is your favorite? Have a wonderful day!!

Home Tour- Master Bedroom

I am so glad to finally be able to share my Master Bedroom with you all! We purchased our first home in December and it has been so much fun making it our own!

I have always dreamed of having a bedroom that feels like a retreat and it has happened. We had an extra space in the room that we decided to turn into a sitting area with a sofa and coffee table.

If you missed the tutorial for my duvet cover you can find it here or it is available for purchase in my shop!  The headboard was also made by me and I will be doing a tutorial on that very soon!

This dresser was my step dads as a child and has now been repainted and is in our home.  I love pieces that are handed down like that. I use a glass egg crate from Anthropologie to hold my rings and an earring holder from Urban Outfitters for my earrings.  The reclaimed wood necklace holder was purchased at a local shop in town.

Here is the sitting area.  The rug was purchased at Urban Outfitters, the armoire from Target, and the coffee table and chair from a local vintage shop.  I repainted and distressed the armoire in a light gray.

And lastly one of my favorite touches in the room is using a vintage door knob as a curtain tie back. LOVE!

I hope you all enjoyed my Master Bedroom Tour! Please let me know if you have any questions.  All the sources are listed below!

Sources: rug, duvet, armoire (similar here), sofa, curtains, you & me bunting, all other items were thrifted, handmade or at local vintage shops.

Kensington Claire's First Birthday Party

Time has seriously flown by! It definitely does not feel like a whole year has gone by since this moment...
Kensington has completely completed our little family.  She is such a little pistol yet such a sweetheart at the same time.  I love you baby girl!

On June 23rd we celebrated Kensie's first birthday with a Carnival themed party. Tons of candy and cake and holy cow did she love the cake! Most of it was made by me but I will be sure to let you all know where everything came from! All of the photos were taken by my dear friend LeAnn from Pure Photography.  We have been friends for about 18 years and am so blessed to have her as a part of my life. A lot of the ideas and decor was also done in huge part by her sister Ashley who is also a dear dear friend.  These wonderful ladies also threw my baby shower which you can check out here!

This little love is such a ham! We pulled out the camera and our phones and she was busting moves left and right! Her shirt was bought from Target and I added the light pink fabric frame with the black wording on the front.  Her pants came from Legacy Design Shop.

This was the main focal area with all of the food.  The banner is Instagram pictures of Kensie from every month.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and fell in love with it.  I also made the tissue paper tassel garland as well.

I'm a little obsessed with chalkboards at the moment so I made sure I found creative festive ways to decorate all of them!  I cut out circle pieces of cardstock and sewed them together to make the confetti garland and I also made all of the accordian wreaths in the top photo.

This girl DEVOURED her cake! I was really expecting some serious tummy issues after this but she was a trooper!  The cakes were made from The Cake Shop in my town.  I was AMAZED at how they turned out!

We are all so happy with how it turned out and are so excited to see what this next year brings! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Ombre Ruffled Duvet Cover

My oldest daughter Kaydence needed a new duvet cover for her new Hello Kitty room. After searching and searching I decided to make my Ruffled Muslin Duvet Cover with a twist! She is such a fun, spunky girl with such a crazy personality, I decided to make the same style duvet but horizontal and ombre! I am so in love with it, I decided to list this one in my shop as well! It can be made in different colors too! I'm excited to see what color combos people come up with!!

If you wanted to try and make it, you could follow the tutorial I posted a couple years back just make it horizontal and with the colors of your choice! Enjoy!

**ADDITION** After having a few questions about this duvet cover, I wanted to add that this is not muslin.  This is a cotton blend fabric in three different colors.  I hope that helps!

Fun New Find

Since having Kensington, my craft time has been pretty limited. Trying to get the hang of two kids was pretty rough at first but I think it's becoming second nature now! My oldest, Kaydence, loves to craft with me so that makes it fun!! Seriously, I have no idea how you mom's of two plus do it!

So I have a couple etsy orders that need to be filled and went to my local fabric store yesterday. I had a few extra minutes to look and found a fabric I've been looking for for what feels like forever! It looks very farmhouse...my favorite! I simply hemmed the edges together and made myself a fun new table runner!

I know it's not an actual vintage one, but man I love it!  I went ahead and added it to my shop but if you find the fabric, it's a super easy and quick little project!  Hope you all have a beautiful Tuesday!

New Home Tour- Kensington's Nursery

Today I am going to share with you Kensingtons nursery. This is one of my favorite rooms in the house. It is very neutral, calm and serene. I decided to leave the walls the color they were when we moved in because it just felt like it was the perfect color to compliment the rest of her things.

I made the mobile from a yarn covered branch that was used as a centerpiece at my baby shower. I added some gold star gift tags and attached sheet music to the opposite side.  I also added the vinyl graphic and name onto the vintage window using my Silhouette SD.  If you have any questions about any items in her room please feel free to ask me! The silhouette/name graphic is now available in my etsy shop! The living room will be next on my home tour! See you soon!!
