New Home Tour Part 1- Craft Area

Wow I can't believe we've already been in our new home for about 2 months now. I have been decorating, organizing and re-organizing like crazy! Today I am going to share with you the room that you see when you first walk in the door. We decided to make this a craft area since I no longer have an extra room for that. We have a lot of built in bookshelves in the new house so I utilized them for organizing my craft supplies.

This is my entryway with our vintage Victrola cabinet. My husband and I realized that is the only piece of furniture that we have kept since we lived in our first apartment! I made the little greeting at the entryway to say hello when we have visitors :)

Here is a view of the room from the entrance.

Some of my organization. I used mostly bins, jars and boxes from Ikea and Target! They house everything from Washi Tape to all of my fabric!

A couple fun crafts that I made. I redid this table to fir the room a little more with gold and white stripes.  I also took a frame found at the Salvation Army, painted it and added some twine for a fun photo display!

Another thing that I love to do is scrapbook. I recently joined the Studio Calico Scrapbook Club and get fun little goodies every month! If you enjoy scrapbooking you should definitely look into that!  These pages hang directly over my desk and can be changed whenever I want to display a new page!

I hope you all enjoyed my craft area tour! I'll be back later in the week with Kensie's nursery!

Our New Home

I am back! And hopefully a couple times a week! I've missed you all so much!  Thought I'd kick off my return with our new house.  December was a bit busy to say the least! Being married to a worship leader makes him pretty much non existent during Christmas time, and of course this year we had to buy a house in the middle of it all! We were so fortunate to be able to buy the home of our dreams and we moved in on December 14th! I'll share some pictures of it empty as we saw it. She is a beauty and we couldn't be more excited! I'll share pictures of it decorated soon.

I still get excited seeing this picture! I remember thinking..."there is no way we could ever afford this!"

The entryway...love the wrought iron!

Living room...don't mind the random car seat and don't worry there was no baby in there! :)

I actually have a big girl kitchen!

We actually have a dining room now too!

Master Bedroom with a sitting area

Those were some of the pictures we took when we first saw it. Hoping and praying it would be ours! I can't wait to show you pictures of it decorated soon!

Our Finished Nursery- Home Tour

We finally finished our baby girl's nursery. I have to say that I flip flopped back and forth a lot with this one. Theme or no theme? which colors to pick exactly? I am glad to say that I am very happy with how it turned out.  All of the photos were taken by my wonderful friend Stephanie at SMG Photography!

This dresser used to be my little brother's and was oak. I wish I would have taken a before picture of this but completely forgot. Bummer! I do love that it has been in the family for a long time! The changing pad box was made by my wonderful step-father!

The baskets hold all of the little fun things that I'm sure I will be using quite often. :)

The walls are adorned with some great etsy finds!
Butterflies: Bugs Loft
Love You So Much Print: Fern Tree Studio
Mini Pom Garland: TiTi's TuTu's

Hope you all enjoyed the tour :) Please feel free to ask any questions about where things were purchased!

Christmas Time is Here

I hope you all are having a wonderful December so far!  I want to share with you all my home during Christmas time.  I think my decor is my favorite during the holidays :)

We don't really have a mantle.  We have this weird wall that separates our family room from our living room.  It doesn't go all the way to the ceiling and has little stair steps at the end. An very annoying "shelf" to decorate.  This year, my husband thought of adding these three trees to the top of it to add some depth.  I love when he gets good creative ideas!

Added some oversized ornaments and greenery to my lampshades.

These last three pictures are all on top of our piano.

 Shots throughout the house

And lastly, our tree.  LOVE

I made some fun little waterless snow globes that were inspired by Anthropologie and will be doing a post on those this week!  I hope you all are well!

Love,

Happy Halloween!

Oh my goodness I feel so late on this post, but I finally decided to take some pictures of my Halloween decor this year! So enjoy my little tour of Halloween at the Carter house!
These beauties I have had for a few years now.  I made them by dying cheesecloth in tea, the wrapping it around dollar store glasses to make "mummy candle holders"

These vintage lampshades are my favorite flea market finds! They give that perfect creepy look with gauze fabric draped over them.

These adorable labels are printables from the Martha Stewart Website.  I just glued mine to mason jars and put creepy rubber fingers and rats in them.

I added black vinyl bats to my vintage window that hangs in my living room.

This is my little raven that sits perched on top of my kitchen cabinets and watches me as I cook. :)

I hope you all enjoyed the Halloween tour!  Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!
