Fabric Typed Jar Labels- DIY

I had the honor of throwing my sister-in-law, Sara's bridal shower yesterday. We went with a vintage carnival theme and it could not have went more perfect. (pictures coming soon!)

We served good old carnival food: corn dogs, shoestring fries, popcorn, cotton candy and peanuts. For the corn dogs I really didn't want to have the ugly condiment bottles sitting out so I wanted to make cute jar labels that had a vintage feel to them. These labels were inspired by labels that I saw at Anthropologie. They aren't for sale there, just typical ADORABLE decor!

So fun right??!!  I love how you can put such a basic item in them and make it look cute!  All I did for these was type my desired words in courier new font size 14, and print them on college ruled paper.  Cut them in strips.  For the fabric, I used osnaburg and cut it out in strips a little larger than the paper.  Once it was cut, I pulled a few stings from each end to give it a frayed look.  Once it was all cut and ready I simply sewed a straight stitch along each edge and that's it! This probably didn't even need a tutorial, but they were so easy to make, I wanted to share :)

Super easy and super cute! If you would LOVE these but don't want to make them..you can purchase them HEREI can picture these labels for your craft notions as well: buttons, brads, pins...I'm sure I'll be making more!

  3. A vintage carnival theme is definitely one of the most creative ideas I've heard for a shower. I think it would definitely make the party more fun. Thanks for sharing this tutorial. Saying hello from Inspired by You Wednesdays. -Lola from Buddhatropolis.com
