Our Mini-Vacation to Disneyland

I love living in Southern California for the reason that we are about an hour from everything- the mountains, the beach, the city, and most importantly...Disneyland! On Monday we decided last minute (seriously 2 hours before heading out the door) that we were going to spend the night at Disneyland. Kaydence was thrilled of course! It's her favorite place to be. We stayed at a little hotel right across the street, and were able to walk right on over (which we love!) Here are some wonderful memories we created those 2 days!

This is from our dinner at Mimi's, Kensie's little face was just too perfect and Kaydence was showing us how proud she was that she finished her dinner!      This one seriously melted my heart and made me tear up a little a lot. We were watching the parade and Kaydence saw her favorite princess Rapunzel and started waving, looking so awestruck...priceless!

  We are always grateful for the times we can get away as a family and enjoy time together! This was definitely one of those times! Where are some of your favorite places to escape to every once in a while?

DIY Succulents in Candle Jars

I have been loving succulents lately! I have always wanted indoor plants that won't die on me! haha! I've had an outdoor garden for a few years now, but just realized how hearty and beautiful succulents are. I've been scouring Pinterest for different ideas on how to plant them instead of just plain pots.  I decided to put some of my old Anthropologie candle jars to good use!

 Here is what I saw and had on hand.  By the way these candles did smell amazing so it was a nice two for one type of thing!  Once the candles were done burning, I put the jars in the oven at about 200 degrees for about 20 minutes to melt the remaining wax, then rinsed them out and cleaned them well with dish soap.  These jars were just too pretty to throw away!  I went to my local Lowe's picked up my soil and succulents and here is what I came up with.

This is by far my favorite table centerpiece. The wood doily that is underneath is by far one of my favorite Etsy purchases from Uncommon! You have to check out their store.  And I got to reuse my candle jars! Win Win!  What are some of your favorite indoor plants? I'm loving the indoor gardening!

Life Lately

I'm back! Seriously trying to get back into this normally! I would love to hear some feedback about what you all like to read! Tutorials, more daily life and family stuff...etc. You name it! Ever since having Kensington my brain feels like mush and I can't stay focused for too long! haha! Anyone else have that happen? So really really I am going to try my hardest to keep up on this blog.

New Home Tour Part 1- Craft Area

Wow I can't believe we've already been in our new home for about 2 months now. I have been decorating, organizing and re-organizing like crazy! Today I am going to share with you the room that you see when you first walk in the door. We decided to make this a craft area since I no longer have an extra room for that. We have a lot of built in bookshelves in the new house so I utilized them for organizing my craft supplies.

 

This is my entryway with our vintage Victrola cabinet. My husband and I realized that is the only piece of furniture that we have kept since we lived in our first apartment! I made the little greeting at the entryway to say hello when we have visitors :)

Some of my organization. I used mostly bins, jars and boxes from Ikea and Target! They house everything from Washi Tape to all of my fabric!

A couple fun crafts that I made. I redid this table to fir the room a little more with gold and white stripes.  I also took a frame found at the Salvation Army, painted it and added some twine for a fun photo display!

Another thing that I love to do is scrapbook. I recently joined the Studio Calico Scrapbook Club and get fun little goodies every month! If you enjoy scrapbooking you should definitely look into that!  These pages hang directly over my desk and can be changed whenever I want to display a new page!

Ricotta Blueberry Muffins

I LOVE to cook and bake!  It makes me so happy that you can mix certain ingredients together and make something amazing!  I am so excited to share one of my all time favorite breakfast muffins with you. They are adapted from Skinny Taste's Chocolate Chip Ricotta Muffins which are to die for as well! I wanted to make this a little more "healthy", so I added blueberries instead of Chocolate Chips...that's really the only difference, but it gives it such a different flavor!  Here's what you need!

*2 cups cake flour
*1 tsp baking soda
*3/4 cup sugar
*3 large egg whites
*1/4 cup butter (melted)
*8 oz. ricotta cheese
*1/2 tbsp vanilla 
*1 pint basket blueberries (or more if you'd like)

First in a bowl combine the flour and baking soda, set aside.  In another bowl, mix together sugar and butter until it's combined well and add the egg whites.  Next you'll add the ricotta cheese.  Once all of that is mixed up nicely, add the flour mixture and the vanilla. And lastly, fold in the blueberries.  The batter is pretty thick and sticky but that's perfect!  Spoon into muffin cups and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until a little brown on top.  DELICIOUS!!  And here is a fresh batch right out of my oven!

This little love was sick most of the week last week so we decided to get out and spend a day shopping...she brings her stroller everywhere!

This face I tell you literally almost KILLS ME!! She is such a happy girl and LOVES getting her pictures taken!

 It's been so nice here we had to spend some time outside. We finally got a swing for Kensie to add to the swing set so it was perfect and they loved swinging together!

My husband and I will be married for 10 years this month! I can't believe how fast time has gone! I have been wanting boots for A LONG TIME and we found these and he got them for me for our anniversary...what a sweet man I have!

I figure I've always been a pretty organized person, but I love organizing other people's things more than mine! haha! A wonderful blog that i follow called  i heart organizing shared her budget binder and planner on her blog and I fell in love with them! The binders and title plaques are Martha Stewart from Staples!
